May - October: Another season in Turkey with our base still in Marmaris enabling us to more fully explore the Aegean Turkish Coast from Kusadasi to Marmaris and east. This is a coast of peninsulas, large gulfs and many beautiful anchorages . The season was punctuated by a brief trip home in late June, followed by a month of visiting friends in western Europe.

2004

May - June: Farewell to Turkey, afer spending the month of May visiting favorite anchorages. Early June, traversing Greece, including the Aegean, Gulf of Corinth and the Ionian Islands to Corfu.

July - September: Across the Adriatic, from Corfu to Brindisi, Italy (to avoid the Albanian coast) and then back to Dubrovnik. July and half of August, cruising up the Dalmatian coast of Croatia with its thousands of islands to the Slovenian border. Late August and September, again crisscrossing the Adriatic with stops in Venice & Monfalcone in Italy, back to Croatia and Piran,Slovenia. Overland travel to Tuscany, Slovenia
and Trieste.

2005

May - September: Another season spent along the Croatian coast, getting to know the islands and mainland in greater depth than in 2004.
The season began and ended in Monfalcone, Italy and included stops in Slovenia enroute to and from Croatia.

2006

May - July: Another winter ashore in Monfalcone Italy. In early May we set off with our friend Fil, and son Jon and his classmate Josh to Venice and then on to the Croatian coast to visit our favorite anchorages before the crowds of charter boats arrived. From Vis, we jumped across the Adriatic to Brindisi, Italy and then back across to Corfu, Greece. We then flew home for ten days to attend Jon's graduation from medical school. After returning to DOVKA we sailed again through the Corinth canal and north to the lovely Sporades Islands and the Khalkidiki region of northern Greece. The cruising season ended with a BANG when we suffered a head-on collision while touring ashore.

September: Three months after the collision, Sid was sufficiently recovered to move DOVKA, with the help of two friends, to Ayvalik, Turkey for the winter.

2007

May - September: Sailed from Ayvalik, along the Turkish Aegean coast to Marmaris where much of the season was occupied with replacing DOVKA's teak deck. The remainder of the time was occupied with cruising locally in the Marmaris region.
